We plan thoughtful celebrations for couples who care about creating a wedding that’s true to who they are…and not so much how everyone else does it. 

 
 

Paper Moon is named after a jazzy Ella Fitzgerald love song from the 1940s, and we couldn’t think of a better feeling to infuse our work. 

Each event is customized and designed from the ground up by our team of seasoned planning professionals, with every detail thoughtfully considered – from the first draft of your budget to the last gift carefully packed. 

We’re experts at managing your money, time, emotions, family dynamics, decisions, and to do lists through a planning process that’s simple and stress-free for everyone involved. 

But the main star of our Paper Moon sky is always you.  We believe there is a joy in standing out, being exactly who you are, and not blending in.  Those celebrations always shine the brightest.

That’s what we’re here to create with you. We want to know what makes your heart beat fast, what food makes you drool, how your friends like to bust a move, and what crazy ideas you’ve dreamed up to make this day unequivocally you two. 

That’s where it all starts for us, and what it all comes back to: what you really want.  Because then we get to figure out how to make the magic happen.

How did you get started as a planner?

The first event I ever planned was my grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary when I was 17.  I got HOOKED on the details, the logistics, the energy. I discovered I love learning and telling people’s stories – so much that I majored in journalism!  But when I interned as a wedding coordinator at 19, I knew this was it for me – my favorite way to bring a love story to life. Ever since that first internship (holding brides' dresses as they peed 😂), I’ve worked in planning and coordination for weddings and events, both corporate and non-profit. 

Why did you start Paper Moon?

Now that I’ve been in the industry for 10+ years, I still love the stories, the details, and the energy the most!  I created Paper Moon to share more of that with the world, alongside a little extra creativity, kindness, and caring. I believe in honoring who our clients really are and what they value.

My team and I have done this so many times, we know that planning a wedding doesn’t have to be stressful and messy.  It can be amazing. That’s the experience we’re here to create for you.


What’s your style when working with clients?

I come from a big Mexican-Italian family – we laugh, we hug, we cry, we make way too many hand gestures when we talk.  When I spend a ton of time planning with my clients, I can’t not think of you as family too.  That’s why we love getting to dive deep into who you are, what you love about each other, and how you want to celebrate with your family and friends in a way that’s completely personal, ridiculously fun, and effortlessly stylish.  Our ultimate goal is for you to feel understood and supported throughout the planning process, then fully present on your wedding day – not worried, distracted or bossed around. 

Why do you call yourself Head Cheerleader?

It’s the role I get to play in your life for the next 2 to 12 months!  As planners, we’re here to help you, cheer you on, and get your head back in the game when things get a little crazy. 

Ultimately, we keep everything focused on that big win we’re all working toward: a celebration so special you’re a little bit in awe of what we accomplished together.


What’s the secret to a perfect wedding?

It’s all in the planning.  But you knew I was gonna say that, right? 

The mark of a perfect wedding is not just a day that goes off without a hitch.  (There’s always a hitch!) It’s also about making the entire planning process feel doable and fun – bringing you closer throughout this big, crazy project...not turning you into snippy stress-balls. 

It means guiding you to design a celebration that honors you and your values and ideas, while also knowing how to make certain family members feel important and included.  Navigating the best choices given your vision and your budget.  It’s about how relaxed and delighted you feel the whole time, not just when everything goes smoothly.  That’s a perfect wedding.

How do you handle what we can’t plan for?

I’ve been doing this for a decade, and my team knows exactly how to stay cool, calm, and collected – and precisely when to let a little magic unfold.  Because the best memories can come from the most unexpected moments. Whether it’s your flower girl sprinting down the aisle to hug you OR coaxing an extra 10 minutes out of the DJ when your college roommate challenges the best man to a dance battle.  Those are the moments that give you and your guests all the feels.  

Plus, game-time decisions are where we shine.  Even if we can’t plan for it, we’re still ready for it.  We always communicate kindly and will bend over backwards to make something work or find unexpected solutions – but we’re also unafraid to put our foot down if any guest or vendor shenanigans pop up.


Couldn’t my maid of honor handle this for me?

I’m the hyper-organized, sweet-with-a-backbone extra BFF you want managing your day so you can have fun with your actual BFFs, worry free.  Whatever comes up, I’m already handling it – usually before you even realize it’s a thing!  There’s an event downtown and we need parking permits STAT? We’re on it. My team is fully trained for this.  I was born for this: oldest child syndrome right here 😁 Let your friends relax and do what they do best: be part of the most important moments of your life, make amazing memories, and have more fun than you ever thought possible.
